Underline Plumbing is an owner-operated business run by Pat, a licensed plumber with 14+ years of experience servicing Carrum Downs and the surrounding Mornington Peninsula, including Mount Eliza and Frankston South.
It’s a genuine solo operation. The plumber who quotes the job is the one who does the work. No call centre, no middleman, direct communication from the first call to the finished job. The workmanship speaks for itself, backed by a wall of 5-star Google reviews and a 10-year workmanship guarantee.
The problem was never the plumbing. It was everything customers saw before they picked up the phone.
Pat had the reputation but not the digital presence to match it. The business ran almost entirely on word-of-mouth, which is great until you want to grow, take a holiday, or smooth out the quiet weeks.
The main pain points:
The first step in his roadmap was clear: fix the foundation. Before you can talk about getting found, running ads, or capturing leads in a CRM, you need a website that actually represents the business and is built to convert.
We rebuilt the Underline Plumbing website from the ground up, and we did it in a deliberate order.
A site that matches the business. The old site was doing Pat no favours. We replaced it with a clean, modern, professional website that finally looks like the quality of work he delivers. When a customer lands on it, the caliber of the business is obvious in seconds.
Built to convert. Clear calls to action, click-to-call, a simple enquiry form, trust signals like the 14+ years experience, same-day quotes, the 10-year guarantee, and real 5-star reviews front and centre. The site’s job is to turn a visitor into a phone call or a quote request.
Services broken out with real content. Rather than one thin page, we built out individual service pages, from blocked drains and hot water to gas leak detection, pipe relining, roof plumbing and renovations, each with content written to be found. We added location pages for the surrounding suburbs too.
This last part is the strategic piece. For Google and, increasingly, for large language models like ChatGPT to find and recommend a business, content has to exist for them to read. The website is where that content lives. Traditional Google search is falling as more people ask AI tools to recommend a local tradie, and when they do, the first place that customer lands is the website. Building out the service and location content now gives Underline Plumbing the pages that AI and search can actually serve.
The rebuild isn’t the whole game. It’s the launchpad. With a converting website and a proper content foundation in place, Pat now has the leverage to move into the next phases of the roadmap: getting found, being served in AI results, and capturing leads in a CRM.

The first and most important milestone in Pat’s roadmap is done: a professional, conversion-ready website with a full set of service and location pages, live at underlineplumbing.com.au.
What that delivers:
The website was step one. It’s the platform everything else is built on, and it’s now in place.
If your plumbing business is relying too heavily on word-of-mouth, referrals or inconsistent lead flow, the answer may not be “more leads”.
It may be the right roadmap.
Tradie Web Guys works with plumbing, gas and trade businesses to build marketing and sales systems that turn demand into booked work.
